what is JAVA ?

Java is a high-level, object-oriented programming language originally developed by Sun Microsystems (now owned by Oracle Corporation) in the mid-1990s. It was designed to be platform-independent, meaning that Java programs can run on any system that has a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) installed, regardless of the underlying hardware or operating system.

Java is widely used for developing a variety of applications, including desktop applications, mobile applications, web applications, and server-side applications. It is particularly popular for building enterprise-level applications due to its robustness, scalability, and security features.

Java code is compiled into bytecode, which is then interpreted by the JVM at runtime. This allows Java programs to be executed on a variety of platforms, without the need for recompilation. Java also supports automatic memory management, making it easier for developers to write efficient and bug-free code.

In addition to the core Java language, there are many libraries and frameworks available for Java developers, which provide additional functionality and make it easier to develop complex applications. Some popular frameworks include Spring, Hibernate, and Struts.
